Ride for Dad expected to tie up weekend traffic

KELOWNA & WEST KELOWNA–RCMP are advising drivers in Kelowna and West Kelowna that the annual Ride for Dad motorcycle rally is happening on Sunday, June 12.

People should expect minor traffic delays along the route between 10 and 10:30 a.m.

Local police and flagging companies will be providing traffic control.

The police escorted ride will leave Banners Recreation at McCurdy Road at 10 a.m. onto Highway 97 (westbound) to Ellis Street.  The ride route then detours down Bernard Avenue to Abbott Street, then exits onto the Bennett Bridge, continuing westbound.

The ride continues along Highway 97 through West Kelowna to Bering Road, ending at the Real Canadian Superstore at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Intersections along Highway 97 will be affected to allow the ride to proceed uninterrupted.
