Halifax police have issued a warning about two recent telephone scams that appear to be targeting seniors and new immigrants.

In the other, a person pretending to be a Canada Revenue Agency employee threatens to call the police and have a warrant issued for their arrest if they refuse to provide credit card information for payment of outstanding income tax debt.

Police say the calls are not legitimate and anyone getting them should hang up and contact their bank, the CRA and the police.
