Over the years, TV audiences have watched Oprah Winfrey‘s battle against weight gain. The former daytime queen has been transparent about it with her fans, telling them about the various diets and exercise regimens she’s experimented with.

Now, Winfrey claims to have found the correct balance and the right motivator — her partner of about 30 years, Stedman Graham, in tandem with the Weight Watchers program.

Winfrey, 62, credits Graham, 65, for encouraging her to achieve her “best body ever.” He joined Weight Watchers to support her, and the two have been dropping pounds ever since.

“He kept asking me what every point was, and I said, ‘Why don’t you just join?'” she said Friday on Good Morning America. “It’s so much better when other people are also counting points.”

“I’m excited that other people are bringing in their friends and family members because it’s been my philosophy forever, that life is better together,” Winfrey said. “We do hold each other accountable.”
