Piano man Billy Joel dedicated a song at his record-setting Madison Square Garden concert last Friday to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump — but don’t worry, it was most likely a sarcastic gesture.
Unfortunately, Trump didn’t get that memo.

During the show, which was Joel’s 75th sellout concert at MSG — a record — he dedicated the song The Entertainer to Trump, saying, “I’m in the entertainment business. Donald Trump’s campaign has been very entertaining. Aside from that, who cares about the political opinions of a piano player?”
Joel has dedicated that particular song to Trump before, but the musician wouldn’t confirm or deny whether he was being genuine.

Another indicator that Joel wasn’t being sincere are the lyrics to the song, some of which you can read below. The Entertainer is about the price one has to pay to stay on top.
I am the entertainer
The idol of my age
I make all kinds of money
When I go on the stage
Ah, you’ve seen me in the papers
I’ve been in the magazines
But if I go cold I won’t get sold
I’ll get put in the back in the discount rack
Like another can of beansI am the entertainer
And I know just where I stand
Another serenader
And another long-haired band
Today I am your champion
I may have won your hearts
But I know the game, you’ll forget my name
I won’t be here in another year

Many musicians, including Adele and The Rolling Stones, have lashed out at Trump for using their music at his campaign rallies without permission.
Canadian artists The Weeknd and Belly recently cancelled their performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! because he had Trump as a guest.
