WINNIPEG – The newest member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers made his first appearance on the practice field.
Former NFL receiver, Lestar Jean took part in Tuesday’s workout at Investors Group Field after he signed with the club on Monday.

Jean, 28, appeared in 27 games with the Houston Texans from 2012 to 2013. He made 10 catches for 186 yards with one touchdown in the regular season. He also had four touchdowns in pre-season games. Jean also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings in 2014 and was with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats briefly at the end of last season. But it’s been more than two years since he appeared in a game.
“It’s been a long time,” Jean said. “I was out of football. Now I’m back playing football, so it’s like I know what I have to do.”

At 6′ 3″ Jean is a big target and he’s been pencilled in at slotback on the Bombers depth chart.
“Obviously he’s got a little ways to go to pick up everything but he seemed to be running around out there,” head coach Mike O’Shea said. “He offers a pretty big target. He seems to offer a fairly decent catch radius too. So we’ll see how that progresses.”

Jean is just grateful for another opportunity to resurrect his football career.
“Cause it could be over,” Jean said. “It’s not guaranteed but you try to extend it as long as you can.”
Weston Dressler, Ryan Smith, Darvin Adams and Rory Kohlert will likely take four of the Bombers starting receiver jobs leaving just one starters job for the other 12 receivers in camp.
“It feels good to be playing football again.” Jean said.
