A Florida motorist is under arrest after a motorcycle carrying a military veteran and another passenger was rammed on a highway. The driver and his passenger were returning from a Memorial Day ride on Monday evening.

Video of the incident shows a driver mount the motorcycle with his car, throwing U.S. Navy veteran Joe Calderazzo and a female passenger off the bike.

The car is then seen speeding away.

According to Abe Garcia, the driver who recorded the video and posted it to Facebook, the attack occurred after Calderazzo and another biker confronted a man about his erratic driving.

“The guy driving the car was driving recklessly, like crazy out of control,” Garcia told WFTS. “I saw him almost run one of the bikers over, like off the side of the road. So then the bikers caught up to him at a red light and words started exchanging, and then the guy went complete psychopath.”

Calderazzo described the incident to reporters as he and his female passenger headed to the hospital.

“I thought the guy was trying to kill us obviously,” Calderazzo said. “You know you don’t know what’s going through your mind. Is he going to put the car in reverse? Is he going to turn around? Is he going to stop and pull out a gun? You don’t know what’s going on.”

Calderazzo suffered a broken leg, while the female passenger was treated for cuts and an ankle injury.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man Monday night and charged him with hit-and-run, a moving traffic violation, and aggravated battery.
