An amendment to Nova Scotia’s Securities Act means orders by other Canadian securities commissions will now be automatically recognized in the province.
The Nova Scotia Securities Commission says the new provisions simplify procedures so that orders issued by other Canadian securities commissions are enforceable in Nova Scotia.
CEO Paul Radford says the move streamlines the enforcement process and will help the commission more efficiently protect investors and Nova Scotia’s capital markets.
The Nova Scotia Securities Commission is the provincial government agency responsible for regulating the investment industry in the province.
