Toronto police say a cat has died after it was shot when someone opened fire at an east-end house.

Police reported the shooting at First and Logan avenues around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

They say a woman returned to the home to find bullet holes in the front door and the cat, which was inside, shot.

Police initially said the animal was “injured but alive” and rushed to an emergency vet. They later said it had to be put down.
