Dates for final arguments in Travis Vader murder trial set for June

After nearly 12 weeks in the courtroom, dates for the final arguments in the Travis Vader double murder trial have been set.

Thursday, the Crown confirmed final arguments will be heard June 23 and 24.

The Justice Denny Thomas hoped to have a decision in the case by August.

Vader is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Lyle and Marie McCann. The St. Albert couple vanished while driving to B.C. in 2010.

Vader has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Vader’s defence lawyer has until Friday morning to reveal whether he’s finished calling witnesses.
