A 68-year-old Alberta man has been charged after a cyclist was killed in a collision east of Edmonton Friday night.
Phillip Norman Wasman, of Ryley, Alta., was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and one count of refusal to provide a breath sample.
The collision happened in the area of Highway 216 and Highway 14 at approximately 6:30 p.m.
According to police, the cyclist was trying to cross the highway when he was struck.

Wasman did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision.
Wasman has been remanded into custody and his next appearance is scheduled for May 25, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in Sherwood Park Provincial Court.
