North Sask. River expected to rise due to Alberta rain

Area residents are being advised that levels on the North Saskatchewan River in Saskatchewan will rise on the weekend after heavy rain in Alberta. 

The province’s watershed authority says the river is expected to rise about three-quarters of a metre in the North Battleford and Prince Albert regions.

The agency says the situation on Lake Diefenbaker is improving as inflows from the South Saskatchewan River recede. 

The authority does not expect flows on the Saskatchewan River in the eastern part of the province to change significantly.
