EDMONTON – A clearinghouse spinoff of luxury retail giant Saks Fifth Avenue will soon be opening its first Edmonton store.
Saks Off 5th plans to open a new location at South Edmonton Common, according to a news release sent out by its parent company, the Hudson’s Bay Company.
The company says: “the 31,900 square-foot store will be a fashion-value destination for residents and visitors alike.”
Saks Off 5th is known for selling a wide range of designer fashion, footwear and accessories for men and women and already has four stores across Ontario which opened in March.
In addition to the new location planned for Edmonton, another store is set to open in west Toronto in September.
“Canada is the first market where Saks Off 5th has opened outside of the United States, effectively launching our global strategy,” Jonathan Greller, president of Saks Off 5th, said in a release. “We have seen strong performance in the market already and, given our commitment to the country and aggressive expansion plans, we are incredibly excited for these additional 2016 stores.
Other locations set to open across Canada in the fall of 2016 include: Calgary, Ottawa and Tsawwassen, BC.
