MONTREAL – One person is dead after a fiery car crash on the de La Concorde Bridge in Montreal.
It could not be determined whether the deceased had been departing the Casino.
Around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, a motorist was heading westbound on the bridge, coming from Île Ste. Helene toward Pierre Dupuy Ave.
The person apparently lost control of the vehicle and hit a concrete divider that separates the roadway from a bicycle path on the bridge.

The car, a Honda Accord, subsequently burst into flames.
Firefighters were called to extinguish the fire.
Once the flames were out, they noticed a body inside.
The front of the Honda Accord was severely crumpled on impact. Only on its trunk could its original shiny silver colour be seen – with the rest of the vehicle reduced to a dark grey colour, the paint and door handles burned in the fire.
Police wouldn’t speculate whether the driver was outbound from the Montreal Casino:
“It happened early in the morning, there’s not a lot of people, so what happened? It’s hard to know,” police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said.
