Storage tank strikes Saskatoon overpass at Highway 11, Circle Drive

SASKATOON – Traffic was restricted Tuesday afternoon after a semi hauling a storage tank struck the Circle Drive/highways 11 and 16 overpass. It happened just before 3:30 p.m. CT.

No one appears to have been injured, according to police.

City officials say engineers have inspected the overpass. Damage is superficial and they are confident it is safe to drive overtop and underneath the structure.

Traffic was flowing normally two hours later.

A northbound semi truck hauling a cultivator hit the same overpass on March 16, damaging the structure. Police said the cultivator was too large to fit under the overpass and there were no injuries.
