A 100-year-old woman from Brooklyn has shattered an age-group world record for the 100-metre dash.
With her yellow mustard sneakers ready for some action, Ida Keeling clocked in at one-minute and 17.33 seconds in the 80 years and older category at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia over the weekend.
“It’s the best exercise I know,” Keeling told CBS.

Keeling didn’t start running until she was 67 when she was encouraged by her daughter to run her first five-kilometre race.
Keeling raised four children on her own after losing her husband to a heart attack when he was 42.
And after two of her sons were murdered in what police believe were drug-related killings, Keeling became depressed and her health suffered.

Ever since her first race, Keeling hasn’t been off her feet. But what’s her secret?
“Do what you need to do, not what you want to do. Exercise every day,” she told CBS.
Keeling, who turns 101 in a couple of weeks, says she won’t stop running any time soon.
