PENTICTON — It was a dangerous day on the roads for some people in Penticton on Sunday.

A section of Lakeshore Drive near Front Street was blocked off to traffic after an accident around 1 p.m.

Police say a woman operating a rental scooter, heading east on Lakeshore Drive, came around a corner and collided with a Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was going in the opposite direction.

The young female was taken to hospital by B.C. Ambulance for check up.

Police say she had minor, non-life threatening injuries, as was the case for the operator of the motorcycle.

RCMP don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

It’s believed because it was a rental, the woman’s inexperience with that particular scooter may have led to the crash.
