Victoria Police Chief Frank Elsner has been suspended by the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner while he faces another investigation.
Elsner was the head of the Victoria Police Department when inappropriate messages surfaced between him and the wife of a subordinate officer.
He had been Chief Constable of the Victoria Police Department for more than a year when the allegations came to light.
That launched an investigation back in December last year, following allegations Elsner misled an investigator and contacted witnesses during an internal investigation.

This comes after new information of further allegations involving Constable Elsner was found.
“The new information arises from recent interviews with witnesses, as well as information obtained from the information technology systems at the Victoria Police Department,” reads the Commissioner’s statement.
The allegations, if substantiated, would involve three separate disciplinary breaches of public trust: one allegation of deceit and two allegations of discreditable conduct.

The Commissioner has determined that it is in the public interest that these new allegations should be investigated by an external police force and he has chosen the RCMP to look into the matter.
Back in March, Elsner was fighting to stop the investigation launched back in December.
