Winnipeg Blue Bombers cut Troy Stoudermire and four others

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released five players including their primary kick returner Troy Stoudermire.

The 25-year-old American played two seasons with the Bombers after being picked up as a free agent in April 2014. Stoudermire led the team with 1,674 all purpose yards last year. He returned 47 kickoffs for 963 yards along with 67 punts for 677 yards and a touchdown. Stoudermire also caught eight passes for 40 yards.

Stoudermire hauled back 38 punts for 474 yards and a touchdown as well as 28 kickoffs for 689 yards in 2014.

The Bombers have also cut ties with receivers Jhomo Gordon and Spencer Davis along with defensive linemen Chase Vaughn and Leon Mackey. Gordon and Davis both participated in the team’s offence-only mini-camp which concluded yesterday.
