KELOWNA – Police say a Kelowna teen was able to get away from a man who grabbed her while she was jogging Tuesday morning.
The attack happened while the 18-year-old was running on the Mission Greenway around 7:30 a.m.
RCMP say the woman was grabbed from behind but fought back.
She was not physically hurt.
“The young woman reported that she was able to fight off her attacker, escape from the suspect and run three kilometers back to her vehicle,” wrote Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey, in a media release.
“RCMP would like to remind residents walking, jogging and biking alone to plan your route, vary your routine and avoid isolated areas.”
Police are asking the public for tips as they continue to investigate this case.
RCMP say the suspect is a white man around 25 years old with short to medium length brown hair and a neatly trimmed beard. He is believed to be around six feet tall with a muscular build.
Police say he was wearing jeans, a black jacket and a large silver watch with roman numerals .
