All of the wild islands involved in the campaign are located within the boundaries of Halifax and are said to provide both environmental and economic benefits to the province.

The Nova Scotia Nature Trust says the islands, which are nestled between Clam Harbour Beach and Taylor Head, are an archipelago of beautiful, unspoiled coastal islands that are full of rich diversity.

Councilor David Hendsbee is expected to put forward a request to the city on Tuesday evening to ask for the additional money needed to complete the campaign.
