Three charged in January 2016 Prince Albert, Sask. homicide

Police have a third person in custody in a Prince Albert, Sask. homicide investigation. Police say they arrested Preston Spencer Dean Bird last Friday at a home in the Midtown area.

Bird, 23, was wanted for second-degree murder in the death of Jonathon Lee Cowan.

Cowan, 23, was found dead in an apartment on Jan. 9, 2016.

Initial reports at the time said he had been shot.

Bird is scheduled to appear Monday in Prince Albert provincial court.

Last month, police arrested Reno Roy Keenatch, 20, and Tyler Thomas Pechawis, 25. Both are charged with second-degree murder in Cowan’s death. Keenatch is also facing a charge of possession of a firearm while prohibited.
