The New York Times has obtained an email written by Kelly Ripa that addresses her absence from “Live With Kelly and Michael” this week.
The talk show host sent the message on Friday night, thanking her staff for their patience and confirming reports that she’ll be returning to the show on Tuesday morning.

“(Sorry for this late Friday night email). I wanted to thank you all for giving me the time to process this new information,” the email read. “Your kindness, support, and love has overwhelmed me. We are a family and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning. Love, Kelly.”
Ripa failed to appear on her talk show twice this week after Michael Strahan announced he would be leaving to join “Good Morning America.”
According to a source close to the star, Ripa felt blindsided by the unexpected news and was reportedly furious with ABC executives for not informing her earlier.
Ana Gasteyer and Erin Andrews replaced the 45-year-old host during her absence from the morning show. “Pretty Little Liars” star Shay Mitchell joined Strahan on Monday morning due to Ripa’s previously scheduled vacation.
