MONTREAL – A two-year-old boy, who was found unconscious in a hotel swimming pool in downtown Montreal Wednesday evening, has died.

The toddler, and his 36-year-old father were both unconscious when they were pulled from the water at the Marriott Residence Inn’s indoor pool on Lincoln Avenue.

The two were taken to hospital, where the father was pronounced dead.

The coroner’s office confirmed the boy died Friday.

It is believed the father, an American tourist,  may have suffered a medical emergency while swimming with his son.

The official cause of death is still under investigation.
