Rockets down 1-0 in Western Conference Finals

KELOWNA–The Kelowna Rockets are down one-game-to-none in the WHL Western Conference Championship.

The Rockets lost their first game of the series to the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-1 on Friday night.

The game remained scoreless until late in the second period, when Seattle scored twice in 36 seconds.

Rouke Chartier got the lone goal for Kelowna late in the third, after the Rockets pulled their goalie to put an extra man on the ice.

Michael Herringer suffered the loss in net as Seattle outshot Kelowna 29-24.

The best-of-seven series comes to Prospera Place for game two on Saturday night.
