Alberta’s Highway 53 was shut down after a serious crash between a car and a semi tractor trailer unit Friday morning.
RCMP said traffic was being diverted on Highway 53 and the stretch between Range Road 192 and Highway 56 was closed. It was reopened around 2:45 p.m.

Paramedics and RCMP from Bashaw and Stettler were called to the scene and STARS Air Ambulance was called.
There was no word on the people involved or the nature of any injuries.

The collision is under investigation.
Bashaw is about 135 kilometres southeast of Edmonton.
