An expectant mom in Indiana says an ultrasound picture of her unborn son appears to show the image of Jesus Christ.

Aley Meyer received the photo from her doctor after a prenatal visit, and failed to notice the image of the crucifix until a week later.

Meyer was showing the ultrasound picture to friends and family at a baby shower when a friend pointed out the divine surprise.

“’It looks like Jesus hanging on the cross,’” Meyer remembers her friend saying.

“We took a picture of it and blew it up on my phone to get a closer look, and there is so much detail,” Meyer told WFIE. “You can see his hair and his legs crossed at the bottom.”

Word about the holy likeness spread fast through the town of Evansville, In.

“Everybody was like, ‘I gotta see that, I gotta see that.’” said Meyer. “I was having to drive this thing all over town.”

“Everybody was just shocked,” she said.

The photo began to go viral on Facebook after Meyer shared it with her mother.

“My mom shared it and she got 50 comments,” Meyer said. “People are asking for permission to share it.”

But the photo has meant more to the expectant mom than just likes and shares on social media.

Meyer, who battles a chronic intestinal disease that requires intense medication, said the appearance has relieved some of the stress surrounding the birth.

“I’ve been on a lot of medicine for my Crohn’s Disease, and we’ve been very worried about it,” she said. “I feel like it’s a sign everything is going to be OK with him.”

Meyer said her grandmother recently bought her a crucifix, which she is going to hang in her son’s nursery.

Meyer is due in June, and plans on naming the baby boy Easton.
