Man who put baggie in coffee facing drug charges: Saskatoon police

SASKATOON – A 26-year-old man is facing several drug-related charges and a cup of coffee is being analyzed following a traffic stop in Saskatoon. At around 7:30 p.m. CT. on Tuesday, members of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST) spotted a truck believed to be operated by a man who was wanted on outstanding charges.

As officers watched, the driver began to operate the vehicle erratically and then came to a stop at the side of Campbell Avenue.

When police tried to take the driver into custody, he reversed and rammed a parked vehicle. He then struck another vehicle before driving onto a lawn.

According to SIDEST, officers witnessed him pushing a baggie into a cup of coffee. Its contents with be analyzed.

The man was arrested and found to be in possession of marijuana, cell phones and around $900 in cash. He’s expected to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Wednesday.
