Canada-wide warrant issued for Saskatoon murder suspect

UPDATE: Saskatoon homicide suspect arrested by Edmonton police

SASKATOON – Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of a man as the investigation into city’s fourth homicide of 2016 continues. Saskatoon police are looking for Miguel Gomez, who is wanted for second-degree murder.

Gomez, 20, is also wanted for two counts of breach of probation.

Police were called out to the parking lot at 7 Assiniboine Dr. around 2:30 a.m. CT Sunday for a report of a fight. Two men were taken to hospital with stab wounds.

A 22-year-old man died from his injuries. His name has not been released.

The second man, 18, was treated in hospital and released.

Investigators say Gomez and the victim did not know each other.

Gomez is five-foot nine, 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has a small tattoo under each eye.
