On Monday, Cst. Elliot Teed of the Bow Island Detachment was charged with one count of sexual assault and two counts of breach of trust.

Teed has been suspended from duty since June 2015, and will remain off duty until the charges against him are resolved.

“His suspension is standard RCMP practice and not a disciplinary measure,” RCMP said.

Teed is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on May 4.

According to RCMP, an internal investigation into Teed’s conduct will resume upon completion of the criminal court process.
