The long-awaited first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released Thursday morning on Good Morning America, to the joy of fanboys and fangirls everywhere.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first of Disney/Lucasfilm’s new stand-alone films, separate from the existing “episode” structure. The events of Rogue One take place during the storyline of the original Star Wars film, Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

In the film, rebel spies steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the infamous Death Star.
The trailer provides glimpses of what’s to come, and gives some insight into lead Felicity Jones’ character, Jyn Erso. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards, who directed 2014’s Godzilla. The cast includes Mads Mikkelsen, Forest Whitaker and Diego Luna, among others.
Also, the AT-ATs are back.
