Nutana slope failure monitored by city

Saskatoon crews continue working on restoring all services to the Nutana neighbourhood after a soil integrity issue on June 21st.

Upon review, the city believes this is a naturally occurring incident and there is no evidence of a failure in city infrastructure.

The city has retained its own geotechnical engineering firm to monitor the movement in the lane and provide consultation on the laneway and affected electric facilities.

There is still a risk of movement and instability and parts of the laneway remain barricaded by fencing between 11th Street East and Saskatchewan Crescent.

City water and electrical services remain on and residents will be notified when a planned outage is rescheduled for required repairs.

SaskEnergy continues to work on restoring service and transit service will remain rerouted.

The city has advised individual homeowners in the affected area to seek their own independent engineering advice about their property.
