A man who was reported missing from Port Alice has been found dead about an hour and a half outside of the village.
On April 4, Port Alice and Port Hardy RCMP received a report of a vehicle that had gone down an embankment. Because of the terrain, police couldn’t get to the vehicle to check if anyone was inside. The RCMP, along with Campbell River Search and Rescue, used equipment borrowed from a logging company to pull the vehicle up onto the road.
Police have now said they found the vehicle and the body of Marc Regimbal, the missing 62 year-old man.
An autopsy on Regimbal is expected to take place later this week.
