REGINA – An early morning fire caused significant damage to a detached garage in downtown Regina.
At approximately 6:55 a.m. on April 4, three fire crews were called to a garage fire in an alley on the 1600 block of Montreal Street, on the west side of the Tommy Douglas house.
Deputy Fire Chief Layne Jackson said a passerby spotted the fire and by the time firefighters arrived, the garage was fully engulfed.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes and fully extinguished in about 50 minutes.
“It was contained to the one structure,” Jackson said.
Jackson said no injuries were reported and there weren’t any vehicles in the garage at the time of the fire.
