New Zealand police released security camera footage of a robbery suspect who used a child’s blanket to conceal his identity during a burglary.

The Counties Manukau Police posted a video to Facebook on Monday, showing the March 20 robbery at a home near Auckland.

The video shows a man appear from behind a wall with a child’s duvet draped over his head and shoulders.

The suspect’s attempt to hide his appearance failed when he lifted the blanket to look around, which allowed the camera to capture a glimpse of his face.

Police describe the “Blankie Bandit” as a Caucasian man in his 20s, with a slim build.

The disguised man was recorded crawling across the floor towards a cabinet, where he is seen rooting through the victim’s belongings.

Police said valuables – including jewelry and cash – were stolen. They could not confirm whether the blanket was taken as well.
