MONTREAL – The Giant Steps school in Montreal is Quebec’s only autism specific school.
Academic and social integration programs take the forefront while students follow the motto “I can do anything.”
Jason Goldsmith has a son at the school and said their experience with autism would have been very different without Giant Steps.
“[Their expertise] shows in the way that they care for the kids and the way that they educate them,” he said.
But the school doesn’t stop there, it also provides community outreach programs to integrate students with their surroundings.
“It’s not just about our kids, it’s also about the effect that we can have on our community,” Goldsmith said.
Until 12 p.m. on April 1, a generous donor has offered to quadruple every donation that the school receives.
Goldsmith implores the public to take advantage of this opportunity and donate.
Information can be found on the school’s website.
