Kamloops Blazers defeat Kelowna Rockets

KELOWNA–The Kamloops Blazers beat the Kelowna Rockets 5-4 at Prospera Place on Saturday night.

Their WHL Round 1 playoff series now sits at one game apiece.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first period, and goals from Rourke Chartier and Rodney Southam gave Kelowna a 3-1 lead after two periods.

The Blazers managed to tie the game 3-3 in the third period.

Tomas Soustal rallied to give the Rockets a 4-3 lead before the Blazers fired back with two goals in the last minute of the third period to win the game 5-4.

Game 5 will be next Friday night at Prospera Place.
