REGINA – Much of central and southern Saskatchewan woke up to a blanket of snow Tuesday morning, resulting in treacherous road and highway conditions.
In the city of Regina, police attended to 13 collisions between midnight and 8:30 a.m., two of which involved injuries and one of which was a hit and run.
Moose Jaw Police say two separate semi accidents heading eastbound out of town on Highway #1 have closed both east and westbound traffic.
There are no reported injuries. Police say they are working to clear the road but are still not encouraging travel due to winter driving conditions.
The City of Regina started “systematic plowing operations” early Tuesday morning with a focus on category 1 and 2 roads.
Travel is also not recommended between Highway #11 from Regina to Davidson according to Highway Hotline.
RCMP are asking residents to check in with Highway Hotline before heading out and taking extra caution on the roads.
