MONTREAL – A pedestrian was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being struck by a car in downtown Montreal Saturday morning.
The collision happened at the corner of Peel Street and de Maisonneuve Boulevard at around 6:20 a.m.

According to police, the pedestrian was crossing Peel Street when he was struck by a car heading west on De Maisonneuve Boulevard.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital and is now in stable condition.
The driver, a 28-year-old man, has been charged with driving under the influence.
The intersection remained closed for four hours as collision experts analyzed the scene.
