Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in New York Wednesday for a full day of meetings with the United Nations.

The prime minister is expected to unveil Canada’s plan to seek to seek a UN Security seat. According to the Canadian Press, it will be at least five more years before Canada makes its return the United Nations Security Council.

It’s expected that Trudeau will announce Canada will vie for a seat on the Security Council for a two-year term starting in 2021.

The prime minister will also hold a joint press conference with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon later today.
