KELOWNA – The RCMP’s investigation into the deaths of two West Kelowna residents has determined the incident was a murder-suicide.

The bodies of Kimberly Ansell, 31, and Marcello Verna, 20, were found in close proximity by a passerby on the side of Shannon Way in West Kelowna on the morning of March 2nd.

“The autopsy findings have confirmed this tragic event as an isolated incident,” says Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey in a news release. “Our investigation has revealed no indication of any third party person involved. Both deceased knew each other and were believed to be involved in a relationship.”

Police are also confirming a gun was found at the scene.

A neighbour tells Global News Ansell was in the process of moving out of her nearby residence when the homicides occurred.
