REGINA – Premier Brad Wall is boasting about the Saskatchewan Party’s rural record to a friendly crowd at the Saskatchewan Rural Municipalities Association convention.
Wall says the Saskatchewan Party government cut the education property tax on farmland and fixed a municipal revenue-sharing formula.
The premier tried to paint a picture of his rival NDP as having what he called a disastrous record in rural Saskatchewan.

During his speech to rural leaders, Wall also announced a new tax credit worth $330 a year for volunteer firefighters and volunteer medical emergency first responders.
The new tax credit would cost the province about $1 million a year, but would be implemented only as the province’s finances strengthen.
The government recently tabled a budget update with a $427-million deficit and plans to run a deficit in the next fiscal year as well.
