SASKATOON – RCMP asked drivers to slow down Monday afternoon after emergency crews responded to a fatal collision between two semi-trucks around 1:50 p.m. CT. The vehicles collided about five kilometers west of Plunkett, Sask. on Highway 16.
Saskatoon RCMP confirmed one man involved in the crash is dead. Police are not releasing his name.

Both the east and westbound lanes remained blocked off between Highway 20 and Highway 2 late into Monday night. Police warned drivers to expect poor road conditions and detours in the area.
Saeed Ahmed was on his way to Yorkton and saw the collision unfold in front of him.
“Those were really bad conditions. It was snowing really hard and the road conditions started getting really slippery,” Ahmed said.
“I have winter tires on my car, studded, but I couldn’t even go over 50,” he added.
A traffic accident analyst and multiple emergency units responded to the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
