WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg surgeon is bringing western Canada’s first School of Rock to Winnipeg.
Darrel Drachenberg is opening the musical school on Corydon Ave.
“The children still get all the rudiments that they need to know music but they get to put it into a practical context that they like and listen to and music their parents like and listen to and do it in a performance context where they really enjoy playing with others,” said Drachenberg.
The school will provide instruments for students who don’t have their own.
Drachenberg held a grand opening on Saturday afternoon.
