Twice in 24 hours, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump defended the size of his hands – and other things –after they became a topic of discussion earlier this week.

Here’s the long and short of it.

During the GOP debate Thursday night, the real estate mogul took a moment to reassure Americans that he’s well endowed.

“I have to say this, I have to say this, he hit my hands,” Trump said. “Nobody has ever hit my hands, I’ve never heard of this…look at those hands, are they small hands?” Trump said, as he showed the crowd his palms.

“He referred to my hands, if they’re small, something else must be small. I guarantee you there’s no problem, I guarantee,” Trump said, referring to his member.

Earlier this week, Marco Rubio attacked Trump by making fun of his “horrible spray tan” and his “small hands.”

Rubio’s comment invokes a long dispute between Trump and Graydon Carter, editor of Vanity Fair magazine.

It seems that Carter was first to call into question this size of Trump’s hands, more specifically his fingers nearly 30 years ago. Last year, Carter admitted to calling Trump a “short-fingered vulgarian,” just to anger the billionaire.

“Like so many bullies, Trump has skin of gossamer. He thinks nothing of saying the most hurtful thing about someone else, but when he hears a whisper that runs counter to his own vainglorious self-image, he coils like a caged ferret,” Carter wrote. “Just to drive him a little bit crazy, I took to referring to him as a ‘short-fingered vulgarian’ in the pages of Spy magazine. That was more than a quarter of a century ago.”

The magazine editor went on to say that every so often he receives an envelope from the billionaire, filled with photos and magazine spreads of Trump with his hands circled in a gold Sharpie.

Rubio revitalized the jab this week when he responded to repeatedly being referred to as “Little Marco” by Trump, a nickname poking fun at his height.

“You know what they say about men with small hands?” Rubio jested, as the crowd of young voters reacted to the schoolyard taunt.

“You can’t trust him. You can’t trust him,” said Rubio.

On Friday, during a post-debate campaign rally, Trump once again defended the size of his hands.

“Those hands can hit a golf ball 285 yards,” Trump told his supporters. “Those are good, strong…I’ve never been criticized about the size of my hands before.”

Trump remains the GOP presidential nomination front-runner after winning seven states on Super Tuesday. Rubio secured one state, Minnesota.
