MONTREAL – During the bail hearing of Yalda Machouf-Khadir, the daughter of Quebec MNA Amir Khadir, a police officer testified that during her arrest, he spotted the controversial work If I Had a Time Machine in the politician’s home.

It was a spook of the famous painting Liberty Leading the People, a work by French painter Eugène Delacroix commemorating the July Revolution of 1830, which overthrew Charles X of France.
It’s not the first time Delacroix’ painting has been appropriated or parodied.
