REGINA – The Saskatchewan Party and the NDP say they’ve nominated a full slate of candidates for the upcoming Saskatchewan election.
Premier Brad Wall says with the last nomination in Saskatoon Centre, the Sask. Party has nominated all 61 candidates for the April 4 vote.
NDP Leader Cam Broten said Monday that his party has also nominated candidates in all 61 constituencies and described it as the most diverse team of candidates in the province’s history.
Saskatchewan voters last went to the polls in November 2011, when Wall and his Saskatchewan Party won a second term in office.
The Saskatchewan Party captured 49 of the 58 seats in the legislature, while the New Democrats took nine.
This time around, Saskatchewan residents will vote in 61 constituencies because three seats were added when the electoral map was redrawn.
