Just after 3:30 p.m., police said the call was finished and the area reopened.

A police spokesperson explained the suspicious package was an improvised explosive device, but said it didn’t pose a safety risk.

The package was rendered safe by the police bomb technicians. Investigators will look into how it arrived at the school.
