Saskatchewan election results 2016: Sask. Party wins Carrot River Valley riding

A look at Carrot River Valley, one of the 61 provincial electoral districts in the 2020 Saskatchewan election.

Fred Bradshaw of the Sask. Party has won the Carrot River Valley riding with 4,906 votes beating out the NDP’s Sandy Ewen who got 1,342 votes.

Summary: One of the northernmost rural ridings in the province, Saskatchewan MLA Fred Bradshaw seeks a third term in Carrot River Valley.

Boundaries: Located on Saskatchewan’s eastern border, the riding is bordered to the west by Nipawin and Tisdale. The only other major communities in the riding are Carrot River and Hudson Bay.

Last Election: Bradshaw defeated NDP candidate Arnold Schellenberg by over 3400 votes, 75-22 per cent.

History: The riding has been won by the Saskatchewan Party in every election 1999, usually by wide margins, but was held by the NDP/CCF for all but nine years from 1952 to 1995.
