Saskatchewan election results 2016: Sask. Party wins Regina Pasqua riding

Muhammad Fiaz of the Sask. Party has won the Regina Pasqua riding with 3,854 votes beating out the NDP’s Heather McIntyre who got 3,579 votes.

Summary: An urban riding in the southwest Regina.

Boundaries: The riding includes the Regina neighbourhood of Albert Park. It stretches from Dewdney Avenue in the north to Koester Road in the south. It also goes west from Campbell Street to Albert Street in the east.

Last Election: New riding so no incumbent.

History: This is a new riding created for the April 4 provincial election. Three additional constituencies have been added for this general election. The new boundaries were passed into law on May 15, 2013 after feedback from individuals and groups.

Candidates

Saskatchewan Party: Muhammad Fiaz, SGI road safety consultant and South Regina Community Soccer Program coach.

NDP: Heather McIntyre, employee and volunteer at CBC, South Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra and Montessori School of Regina.

Liberal: Darrin Lamoureux, Saskatchewan Liberal leader and construction worker.

Green: Mike Wright

PC: Desmond Bilsky
