A religious festival in Palakkad, India turned into a chaotic scene last Thursday when an elephant broke loose and went on a rampage tossing a vehicle about like a child’s toy.

It took several hours to get Devidasan the elephant under control.
Elephants are a feature of the Thalappoli festival that runs every year in January or February.
No one was hurt in the incident.
